6 Lane Highways It would be nice to have a 2 way 6 lane highway with a divider in the middle rather than having to make 2 separate 3 lane one way highways. It would be different from the current 6 lane road in that when a road connects to it there is no intersection created, you can only get on to the lane in the direction that side is going.

Having a 4-laner in a neighborhood is overkill, and having a 2-laner connecting 2 districts is obviously not enough. I mostly use 6 lane roads at the intersections of 4-lane roads to add more turning lanes, speeding up traffic through the intersection. I made a guide but the forum ate it. I'll re-post if it comes back.

Highways are single direction 6 lane roads can be multi directional. I just dont get it, am i missing something here? Also why use ramps to connect highways to city roads when you can connect the highway directly? 9 Answers Sorted by: 41 The simplest, easiest and most compact way to connect the starting highway to a smaller main road is to just use a pair of one-way roads - one set from the incoming highway to the end of the main road, and one from the end of the main road to the outgoing highway.

In general, six-lane roads should be very long, straight, have few intersections, and not have a lot of high-traffic destinations on them (like industry or universities). Revol- • I don't believe its a defect in the A.I. coding.

So a 6-lane fits the role of an arterial, it takes vehicles from the highway to collectors (for which I usually use 4-lanes), which takes them to streets (2-lanes), where destinations are. All of these are guidelines, details may and will change depending on your actual layout.
